Double Vision
2018
Wales Millenium Centre
QUENCH
★★★★
“a treat all for the senses”
“an elegant and inclusive show with a stunning soundtrack”
Part murder mystery, part gig, and a whole lot of fun; Double Vision is a brand-new thriller from Wales Millennium Centre and award-winning theatre company Gagglebabble.
Welcome aboard the Empress of the Sea, the most luxurious cruise ship ever built, we’re going to make this a trip you’ll never forget.
Lead singer Serena woos the crowds nightly in the Bijoux Bar while Mel mixes the cocktails. But then, one stormy night, events take an unexpected and sinister turn. As the ship hits choppy waters passengers disappear, perspectives shift, reality blurs and Serena’s life changes forever.
Double Vision is a thrilling ride through the darkness of the human psyche inspired by Alfred Hitchcock and Earnest Lehman’s un-finished script, The Blind Man. It’s a story about friendship, perception and betrayal.
Combining Gagglebabble’s signature dark humour with an electrifying original score composed by Lucy Rivers and performed by a live band fronted by Lisa-Jen from 9Bach, Double Vision will be a multi-sensory experience, created especially for Festival of Voice.
